Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q1: What should I do if my name is on the list but I haven’t received an SMS/email?
A1: Candidates are advised to regularly check the official RRB Bhopal website (www.rrbbhopal.gov.in) for updates and to download their e-call letter. The SMS/email is a reminder, but the official website is the primary source.
Q2: Can I change my DV date or venue?
A2: Generally, changes to DV dates or venues are not permitted. Only in extreme cases, like appearing for another government/university examination or serious illness, and with proper documentary evidence, might a block date be considered. No new e-call letter will be issued for the block date.
Q3: What if I don’t have all original documents?
A3: It is mandatory to produce all original documents. Failure to do so may lead to the rejection of your candidature. Ensure you have all necessary certificates in the prescribed format.
Q4: What is the medical examination process like?
A4: The medical examination typically assesses physical fitness, vision, and general health standards as prescribed for railway employees. It may include eye tests, blood tests, urine tests, ECG, and general physical examination. Candidates must be prepared to stay for a few days.
Q5: Is there any fee for the medical examination?
A5: Yes, a prescribed medical fee of Rs 24/- is to be paid at the nominated Railway Hospital/Health Unit. Any additional specialized tests requested (e.g., CT scan, Ultra Sound) not available at the Railway Hospital may require separate payment at an external laboratory.
Q6: What happens if I fail the medical examination?
A6: If a candidate is declared medically unfit, their candidature will be cancelled. There might be provisions for appeal in some cases, but it depends on the specific medical standards and the nature of unfitness.
Q7: How important is it to upload documents on the RRB DV portal?
A7: It is critically important. The notification explicitly advises candidates to upload scanned copies of their photograph, signature, educational, caste, and other certificates on the designated portal. This streamlines the verification process and is a mandatory step.
Q8: What are the merged categories options?
A8: As per CEN-03/2024, candidates shortlisted must exercise options for merged categories posts into a common category. This ensures that candidates can be considered for all relevant posts they are eligible for, based on merit. The link to exercise this option is provided in the notification.
