Preparation Tips for Written Test & Interview

Written Test Preparation Strategy

Given the comprehensive syllabus, a structured approach is crucial:

  • Understand Weightage: Focus on core administrative rules (CCS, GFR, Pension) as they often carry significant weight in such exams.
  • Conceptual Clarity: For subjects like Finance & Accounts and Store & Purchase, ensure you understand the underlying concepts rather than just memorizing.
  • Current Affairs & Policies: Stay updated on recent policies and developments in Higher & Technical Education, and relevant legal acts like RTI.
  • Practice MCQs: Since it’s an objective test, practice multiple-choice questions from standard government exam books covering General Administration, Financial Rules, and Legal Acts.
  • Time Management: With 60 questions in 90 minutes, practice solving questions quickly and accurately.

Interview Preparation Tips

The final selection is based on the interview, so prepare thoroughly:

  • Role Understanding: Thoroughly research the duties, responsibilities, and functions of a Deputy Registrar in a university setting. Be prepared to discuss how your skills and experience align with these.
  • Behavioral Questions: Practice answering questions related to leadership, conflict resolution, team management, decision-making, and handling administrative challenges.
  • University Knowledge: Familiarize yourself with RGNAU’s structure, academic programs, and recent initiatives.
  • Communication Skills: Focus on clear, concise, and confident communication. Maintain good eye contact and a professional demeanor.
  • Document Readiness: Ensure all original documents are organized and easily accessible for verification, as this will be simultaneous.
