Mandatory Certificates/Documents
- Matriculation/10th Standard Certificate: For proof of Date of Birth. If DOB is not on the certificate, a School Leaving Certificate indicating DOB will be accepted.
- Degree/Diploma Certificate: Along with mark sheets for all academic years, as proof of educational qualification. Provisional certificates are accepted if the original degree/diploma is unavailable.
- Experience Certificate(s): In the “prescribed proforma” from the Head(s) of Organization(s)/Department(s) for all claimed experience. It must clearly state duration of employment (date, month & year), basic pay, consolidated pay, and nature of duties performed/experience obtained relevant to the post. Experience certificates not in prescribed proforma will be considered on merits by the Commission.
- Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC): In the “prescribed proforma” from the competent authority, clearly indicating the candidate’s Caste, the Act/Order under which the Caste is recognized, and the village/town of ordinary residence.
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Declaration: A declaration in the “prescribed proforma” stating that the candidate does not belong to the creamy layer on the crucial date, in addition to the community certificate. The prescribed last date for receipt of Online Recruitment Application (ORA) is considered the crucial date.
- Physically Handicapped (PH) Certificate: In “prescribed proforma” issued by the competent authority, based on prescribed standards of Medical Fitness.

- In case of marriage of women: Photocopy of Husband’s passport showing names of spouses OR an attested copy of marriage certificate issued by the Registrar of Marriage OR an Affidavit from husband and wife along with a joint photograph duly sworn before the Oath Commissioner.
- In case of re-marriage of women: Divorce Deed/Death certificate (as applicable) in respect of first spouse; AND photocopy of present husband’s passport showing names of spouse OR an attested copy of marriage certificate issued by the Registrar of Marriage OR an Affidavit from the husband and wife along with joint photograph duly sworn before the Oath Commissioner.
- In case of divorce of women: Certified copy of Divorce Decree and Deed Poll/Affidavit duly sworn before the Oath Commissioner.

Candidates must download and fill the Attestation Form from the ‘Recruitment’ section of the UPSC website. Bring three recent (taken within 10 days) passport-size photographs (4cm x 5cm approx.) that are in colour, clear, full-face, front view, with eyes open, against a plain white or off-white background. No shadows or unnatural expressions. The photograph should have the candidate’s name and date printed on it, and must match the one uploaded with the Online Application Recruitment (ORA) form.
