NTA issues important update for CUET (UG) 2026 exam city change. Only State and City changes are allowed till May 7, 2026. Date/Shift remains unchanged. Check details.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an important Public Notice dated 06 May 2026, superseding its previous notice from 05 May 2026 regarding the facility for selecting examination State/City/Date/Shift for CUET (UG) 2026. This latest update clarifies significant changes to the modification process, primarily impacting candidates wishing to adjust their examination preferences.
What Changed
Due to logistic and operational challenges, NTA has revised the scope of changes permitted for the CUET (UG) 2026 examination. The facility for modification is now restricted:
| Particulars | Earlier (Public Notice dated 05 May 2026) | Revised (Public Notice dated 06 May 2026) |
|---|---|---|
| Change Facility Scope | Allowed selection of preferred Examination State/City/Date/Shift | Only change in Examination State and City will be considered. |
| Date & Shift Change Requests | Implied as part of preferred selections | Will NOT be entertained. The originally allotted schedule (date of exam/shift) shall remain unchanged. |
Reason for Change
The National Testing Agency stated that the revision is necessitated due to unavoidable logistic and operational challenges, making it impractical to accommodate changes in examination dates and shifts.
Action Required from Candidates
- For New Requests: Candidates who intend to submit requests henceforth are strictly advised to change only their examination State and City. Any requests for changes in date or shift will not be processed.
- For Already Submitted Requests: Candidates who have already submitted requests for changes including date and shift are informed that only the change of examination State/City will be considered. Requests for changes in examination date and shift will not be entertained, and their original exam schedule will remain unchanged.
- Deadline for Changes: The facility to change examination State and City is available till 07.05.2026 (11:50 PM). Ensure you make necessary modifications before this deadline.
