Preparation Tips
To excel in the GMRCL Non-Executive recruitment, a strategic approach is essential:
1. Understand the Syllabus & Exam Pattern
Familiarize yourself with the detailed syllabus for Technical Knowledge, Gujarati Language, Logical Ability & Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and General English. Note the number of questions, marks, and duration for your specific post (SC/TO/JE vs. Maintainer).
2. Focus on Technical Knowledge
This section carries significant weightage (40 marks). Thoroughly revise your core engineering/ITI trade subjects. Refer to standard textbooks and previous year’s questions for your discipline.
3. Master Aptitude & Reasoning
Practice a wide range of questions from Logical Ability & Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude. These sections are crucial for scoring well. Work on speed and accuracy.
4. Improve General English & Gujarati Language
For General English, focus on grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and basic sentence structure. For Gujarati, ensure you meet the qualifying criteria (60% for General, 50% for Reserved) by practicing grammar, vocabulary, and basic understanding. While its marks aren’t counted for merit, passing is mandatory.
5. Time Management & Mock Tests
Practice solving full-length mock tests within the 120-minute time limit. This will help you manage time effectively and identify areas where you need to improve speed. Analyze your performance in mocks to refine your strategy.
6. Negative Marking Strategy
Be cautious of the 0.25 negative marking. If unsure about an answer, consider marking ‘E’ to avoid negative marks, as per the notification. Attempt questions where you are confident.
7. Health & Medical Fitness
Prepare for the medical examination by maintaining good health. Familiarize yourself with the prescribed medical standards (Aye-One, Bee-One) as medical fitness is a crucial part of the selection process.
