Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications:

  • Three-year Diploma in Electronics Engineering / Electronics Communication Engineering / Electronics / Electrical Electronics or equivalent engineering branch from an institution recognized by AICTE, New Delhi (non-distance mode).
  • OR
  • Three-year Diploma in Electronics Engineering / Electronics Communication / Electronics / Electrical Electronics or equivalent engineering branch from a University / Deemed University recognized under the provisions of the University Grants Commission Act (non-distance mode).

Age Relaxation

Age relaxation will be provided as per Bihar Government rules:

  • Contractual Employees: Candidates working on a contractual basis on the same post under the Science, Technology & Technical Education Department will be granted relaxation in the upper age limit equivalent to their period of service. Selection Process

The selection process for the Laboratory Assistant posts will be based on a combination of a Written Competitive Examination (Computer Based Test) and marks for work experience (for eligible contractual employees). The merit list will be prepared as follows:

  1. Written Competitive Examination (Computer Based Test): This exam will carry a maximum of 75 marks.
  2. Work Experience: Contractual employees previously working on the same post (Laboratory Assistant) under the Science, Technology & Technical Education Department will be awarded 05 marks for each year of satisfactory service, up to a maximum of 25 marks. A service period of 06 months or more, but less than 01 year, will be counted as 01 full year.
  3. Total Marks: The combined score will be out of 100 marks.

Weightage Calculation: The marks obtained in the written competitive examination will be multiplied by a factor of 0.75. For example, if a candidate scores 60% in the exam, their score for merit calculation will be 60 x 0.75 = 45 marks.

Only candidates who qualify in the written examination with minimum cut-off marks will be considered for work experience weightage.
