General Academic Requirements
- All applicants must possess a Ph.D. degree in the relevant or equivalent discipline.

Working Experience Guidelines
- Experience from Institutes of repute will be considered as per MHRD oversight committee resolution dated 16th April 2019.
- More than six months of regular service experience will be counted for shortlisting.
- Part-time, daily-wages, Ad-hoc, visiting, Guest faculty, Fixed Remuneration, or Contract Basis experience will not be considered.
- Experience in applicable pay scales (UGC/AICTE/Govt. of India/PSUs) will be considered.
- Post-Doctoral Fellow (PDF) experience is considered for Assistant Professor up to Pay Level 12 as per MHRD guidelines.
- Industry experience from Public Sector Undertakings (Central and State) or Private companies with a turnover of Rs. 500 Crore per annum for the last three years will be counted as teaching cadre experience, provided it is in the relevant field.

Selection Process
The selection process for faculty positions at NIT Delhi is rigorous and merit-based:
- Initial shortlisting will be based on essential qualifications, experience, and cumulative essential credit points. The Institute reserves the right to set higher shortlisting criteria than the bare minimum, considering factors like specialization, academic record, reputation of institutions, and research publications.
