   • Alternative B.Ed. Qualifications: In the absence of candidates with a B.Ed. Degree in the concerned subject, a B.Ed. Degree acquired in the concerned faculty will be accepted. Further, in the absence of both the above, a B.Ed. Degree in any subject acquired after a regular course of study will be considered.
   • OR an M.Sc.Ed. Degree in the concerned subject with not less than 50% marks from any of the Regional Institutes of Education sponsored by NCERT.
3. Must have passed the State Eligibility Test (SET) for the post of Higher Secondary School Teacher conducted by the Government of Kerala or its authorized agency.

Exemptions from B.Ed. Qualification

• Persons who have acquired an M.Ed. in the concerned subject recognized by any University in Kerala are exempted from the B.Ed. qualification.

Exemptions from State Eligibility Test (SET)

• Candidates who have passed the State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) for College Lecturers conducted by the Government of Kerala.
• Candidates who have passed the National Eligibility Test (NET) or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).
• Persons holding Ph.D., M.Phil., or M.Ed. degrees, provided the M.Phil. is in the concerned subject and recognized by any University in Kerala.
• Teachers who have completed 10 years of approved teaching service at the High School level in the General Education subordinate service.
