Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification (as on 19.04.2026)

  • Professor: MD/MS in the concerned Subject. Requires 3 years experience as Associate Professor in a recognized medical institution OR 3 years experience as Specialist Medical Officer of the Armed Forces as Associate Professor. Must have at least two research publications after becoming Associate Professor and completed Basic Course in Biomedical Research. Required to undergo Basic Course in Medical Education.
  • Associate Professor: MD/MS in the concerned Subject. Requires 4 years experience as Assistant Professor in a recognized medical institution OR 5 years if directly appointed as Assistant Professor in Govt. medical institution OR 5 years clinical experience as Specialist Medical Officer of Armed Forces (with 3 years as Assistant Professor). Must have at least two research publications after becoming Assistant Professor and completed Basic Course in Biomedical Research. Required to undergo Basic Course in Medical Education.
  • Assistant Professor: MD/MS in the concerned Subject. Requires 1 year as Senior Resident in a recognized medical institution OR 1 year teaching/2 years clinical experience as Specialist Medical Officer of the Armed Forces. Other criteria include non-teaching Consultant/Specialist/Medical Officer with PG medical degree and 2 years experience in 220 bedded Govt. hospital (must complete Basic Course in Biomedical Research within 2 years). Diploma holders appointed as Senior Residents before 08.06.2017 with 4 years SR experience, or diploma holders working as Specialist/Medical Officer in Govt. medical institution with 6 years cumulative experience are also eligible.
  • Note for specific departments: For Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Pharmacology, non-medical candidates with Medical MSC and PHD (done in Medical college as per NMC Norms) can apply.
  • All candidates must have updated Medical (NMC/State Medical Council) registration with all post MBBS/MD/MS qualifications. Candidates without updated registration must show proof of application for the same.

Age Relaxation & Reservation

  • Reservation will be as per Government of India guidelines.
  • EWS candidates must submit EWS Certificate as per Annexure-I of Govt. of India, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, DOPT Office Memorandum No. 36039/1/2019-Estt (Res), dated 31.01.2019.
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Certificate should be issued not prior to one year from the date of interview, in the format applicable for Central Govt. job.
  • Reservation for PH (Divyangjan) candidates will be maintained as per GoI norms.
