Educational Qualification
- MS / DNB in General Surgery from a recognized university/institution.
- One Year Experience as Senior Resident in General Surgery in a recognized Medical College after acquiring a Post Graduate Degree.
- Permanent Registration under Kerala State Medical Council (TCMC) / Council for Modern Medicine.
Note on Experience Equivalence:
- Experience gained by a Tutor in a medical institution in the concerned subject having a Post Graduate Degree shall be considered equivalent to the Experience required as a Senior Resident.
- Experience gained by a Demonstrator in a medical institution in the concerned subject having an MSc and Ph.D Degree shall be considered equivalent to the Experience required as a Senior Resident.
- Specialist Medical Officers of the Armed Forces having at least One year Teaching Experience or two years of Clinical Experience after obtaining Post Graduate Degree in the concerned subject.
- A non-teaching Consultant or Specialist or Medical Officer, possessing Post Graduate Medical Degree in the concerned subject with at least 2 Years of Experience in a Government Hospital having at least 220 beds shall be eligible to become an Assistant Professor in the concerned subject without the requirement of experience as Senior Resident and shall complete the Basic Course in Biomedical Research within two years of appointment.
- Diploma holders appointed as Senior Residents in a recognised Medical institution before 08.06.2017 having total experience of 4 Years as Senior resident in the concerned subject.
- Diploma holders working as Specialist or Medical Officer in the concerned subject of a government Medical Institution or Government Medical Institution running National Board of Examination and Medical Science recognised teaching programme having cumulative experience of 6 Years.
Qualifications are as per NMC Regulations 2025, Medical Institutions (Qualification of faculty) Regulations, 2025 dtd 30.06.2025.

Candidates must be within the age group of 22-48 years. Only candidates born between 02.01.1977 and 01.01.2003 (both dates included) are eligible to apply.
