Frequently Asked Questions

Can candidates from other states apply for Kerala PSC recruitment?

Generally, for state government jobs like these, preference is given to candidates with proficiency in Malayalam and domicile in Kerala. However, the notification does not explicitly restrict non-Keralites. For ‘by transfer’ posts, candidates must already be in Kerala Government Service.

Is there any application fee for these KPSC posts?

No, the official notification clearly states that no application fee is required for these posts.

What is ‘One Time Registration’ for KPSC?

One Time Registration (OTR) is a mandatory process for all candidates applying for KPSC jobs. It involves registering personal and educational details once on the KPSC website, which can then be used for all future applications. Candidates receive a User ID and Password for their profile.

What is the selection process for ‘Anticipated’ vacancies?

When vacancies are ‘Anticipated’, it means the exact number of openings is not yet fixed but is expected. KPSC will proceed with the recruitment process (exam, DV) and prepare a ranked list. Appointments will then be made against the actual vacancies reported during the currency of the ranked list.

What documents are required for the application?

While applying online, you need to upload your photograph and ensure all details are accurate. Original documents for educational qualifications, age proof, experience certificates, and caste certificates (for age relaxation/reservation) will be required at the time of document verification, if shortlisted.

What if I don’t submit confirmation for the exam?

If a written/OMR/online test is conducted, candidates must submit a confirmation through their One Time Registration profile within the stipulated period. Failure to do so will lead to the absolute rejection of the application, and no admission ticket will be issued.

Are there any special provisions for PwD candidates?

Yes, for HSST posts, 4% vacancies are reserved for Persons with Disabilities as per government orders. Age relaxation also applies to PwD candidates.

What happens after I submit the online application?

After submission, keep a printout or soft copy of your application. KPSC will publish the examination calendar for test dates and confirmation periods. Notifications will be sent to your profile and registered mobile number regarding further steps like admit card download and document verification.
