The recruitment is for the position of Research Associate (Qualitative) under the foreign-funded Project P-5510, titled “Improving primary health care for patients with non communicable diseases during severe flooding in India.”
- Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 67,200/- (Consolidated)
- Nature/Tenure of Appointment: Temporary (Purely on contract), initially for a period of one year, likely to be extended or till the completion of the project, whichever is earlier.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following essential and desirable qualifications and experience:
Educational Qualification & Experience (Essential)
- Master’s degree in Public Health.
- One year’s experience in health research.
- Fluency in Malayalam.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in Qualitative Research Methods and evidence synthesis.
- Experience in community-based research.
- Two publications in peer-reviewed indexed journals.
- Willingness to travel extensively.
Age Limit
The maximum age limit for applicants is 35 years as on 01.01.2026. Age relaxation of up to 5 years will be granted to deserving candidates having experience of working in a Government Research Organisation, in line with ICMR Order No. 16/29/2023/Admn/E.Office No.157401 dated 18.10.2024 point (h).

Job Description
The selected Research Associate will play a pivotal role in the NCD Flood Project. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting all components of the project, including qualitative and quantitative sub-studies.
- Tool development for data collection.
- Community-based survey data collection.
- Conducting in-depth interviews and focus group discussions.
- Supporting the Delphi consensus process.
- Transcription, translation, data entry, cleaning, and assisting in data analysis, reporting, and dissemination.
- Extensive travel within Kerala and Bihar for fieldwork is required.
- Performing any other duties assigned by the Principal Investigator in line with the project’s objectives.
Selection Process
The mode of selection will be a Walk-in-Interview. Depending on the number of candidates, a written test of qualifying nature may be conducted for initial screening. Only qualified candidates from the written test (if conducted) will be called for the interview. Marks obtained in the written test will not be counted for final ranking.
