Eligibility Criteria for Clerk Grade-II / Junior Assistant

1. Common Eligibility Test (CET) Qualification

Age Relaxation:

The following relaxations in the upper age limit are applicable:

4. Nationality

Candidates must be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee (settled in India before 01.01.1962), or a person of Indian origin migrated from specific countries with the intention of permanently settling in India. Relevant certificates from the Government of India are required for non-Indian citizens.

5. Character and Health

  • Candidates must be of good mental and physical health and free from any defect likely to interfere with the efficient discharge of their duties.

  • Live Photo: Captured via OTR. Look straight, blink 2-3 times, no closed eyes. If wearing glasses, ensure no glare. Clear, well-lit (enlightened) white/light background. Face should cover at least 50% of the photo. No head/face covering, no black/sunglasses. No editing or tampering allowed.
  • Scanned Signature: Black or dark blue ink on a white paper within a 7 cm wide x 2 cm high box. JPEG format, 280×80 to 560×160 pixels, 20KB to 50KB file size.
  • Scanned Thumb Impression: Left thumb (if unavailable, right thumb). JPEG format, 280×80 to 560×160 pixels, 20KB to 50KB file size.
  • Mobile phone photos of signature/thumb impression are not accepted.

Application Correction

Candidates can correct certain details in their application:

  • First Correction Window: For 3 days after the application end date, with a fee of ₹ 300/-.
  • Second Correction Window: Approximately 1 month before the exam, for 7 days.
  • Unchangeable Details: Name, Father’s Name, Gender, Date of Birth, Photo, and Handwriting Sample cannot be corrected.

Selection Process for RSSB Clerk Grade-II / Junior Assistant

The selection process comprises two phases:

Phase I: Written Examination

This phase consists of two objective-type papers:

Pay Scale and Probation

Selected candidates for Clerk Grade-II / Junior Assistant will be placed in the Pay Matrix Level-5 (L-5) as per the 7th Pay Commission.
