Selection Process

The selection process for NMPA Class I & II posts will comprise the following stages:

  1. Online Examination: This will be the primary screening stage. The exam may be objective, descriptive, or a combination of both.
  2. Personal Interview: Top candidates, shortlisted based on their online examination performance, will be called for a Personal Interview. NMPA reserves the right to include Group Discussion and/or Presentation as part of the interview process for some or all posts.
  3. Document Verification (DV): Candidates provisionally shortlisted will undergo document verification to confirm their eligibility.
  4. Medical Examination: Appointed candidates will be subject to medical fitness as per prescribed standards and will undergo examination at the Port Hospital.

The final merit list will be prepared based on combined marks, with 90% weightage for the online examination and 10% for the Personal Interview (including any Group Discussion/Presentation).

Negative Marking: Each incorrect answer will result in a deduction of 1/4th of the marks allotted for the correct answer.

Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and left thumb impression as per the specified dimensions and file sizes (Photograph: 4.5cm x 3.5cm, 20kb-50kb; Signature: 140×60 pixels, 10kb-20kb; Left Thumb Impression: 240×240 pixels, 20kb-50kb). Also, upload a handwritten declaration (text provided in the notification, 50kb-100kb).
  8. Preview your entire application form carefully to ensure all details are correct. No changes will be allowed after final submission.
  9. Proceed to the ‘PAYMENT’ tab and pay the application fee (if applicable) using Debit Cards, Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets.
  10. After successful payment, an e-Receipt will be generated. Take a printout of the e-Receipt and the online Application Form containing fee details.
