- A pass in the Pre-Degree examination with Arabic as an optional subject; OR
- A pass in the SSLC examination from Arabic Oriental School or from academic school with Arabic as First Language conducted by the Commissioner for Government Examinations, Kerala, AND a pass in Higher Secondary examination; OR
- A pass in Higher Secondary examination AND a pass in Arabic Teachers Examination conducted by the Commissioner for Government Examinations, Kerala; OR
